Dream for Memories Trend Design Team

Hi everyone! Today I'm here with a new layout I designed for Memories Trend DT with the beautiful stuff that came in my kit. The photo I used is from my younger daughter's music concert with an amazing Greek children's choir, Rosarte.

The basic element of this layout is the circle. I used Sizzix framelits to create some circles of different sizes which I used as mats and as journaling spots. I also used a mask with pig polka dots for the background. So let's see the creative process!
Firstly, I used the Swiss dot mask which I should say is a "must have" mask for mixed media backgrounds. It's so versatile! So I made some dotted spots using the mask and gesso. I also gessoed the edges of my patterned paper for a more distressed look.
Then with my Cuttlebug and Sizzix framelits (circles) (another versatile product with many uses) I cut 5 rings from patterned papers using 2 dies to create the borders for my journaling spots. Then I cut with the bigger one of the 2 dies the base of my journaling spots from ivory card paper. I also cut my photo using a bigger die and the photo mat from ivory card paper again. You can see the photos below.

For a more distressed look I stamped on the ivory paper using La Blanche music fragment stamp and Robin's egg ink pad. I also used this beautiful ink to distress the edges of my circles, the die-cut leaves, the white flowers and the letters of my title.

After stamping on the journaling spots I glued the border rings.

The song lines that you see under the photo are part of the photo.

True love for Memories Trend DT

Hello fellow scrappers! Today I'm back with a new layout that I created for Memories Trend Design Team. I'm really very happy with the result.

I used an old photo of me and my first daughter and some delightful products that I received in my design team kit from Memories Trend.

Firstly I created the background on my base patterned paper using the amazing Heidi Swapp's mask Confetti, my white gesso and some white gesso with a little acrylic paint from the dabber (to create the light green colour which I used on some spots on the paper.

Then I teared some pieces of the Graphic45 and Kaisercraft papers and distressed them to create the mat of my photo and some decorative strips around my photo. I also used a wide piece of an off green lace on my mat to have a more shabby chic result.
I also used some rub ons on several spots on the background paper (you can see some tiny butterflies, a little border on the right side of the photo mat and of course the lovely quote which reads: "When I count my blessings I count you twice".

Finally I created my flower bouquet using the wonderful Sizzix Sping greenery die (which I'm sure that I'll never stop using) and some beautiful Prima flowers that were included in the design team kit. I also used two cream roses that I had in my stash which I first misted with Perfect Pearls mint mist. I also used three tiiiny roses (which I think you can hardly find on my layout) after I misted them with Perfect Pears heirloom gold mist. I also added a bit of diamond stickles on the edges of my flowers.

After finishing my layout I created a little tag using some pieces from the papers I have used on the layout, a piece of lace, some die-cuts that I cut using the Sizzix die, a Prima rose and some rubons. I also distressed everything using vintage photo distress ink. To create the decorative edges on my base cardstock I used the Deco/Stub corner chomper

Love for music & a mini-mini album-Memories Trend DT

Hello everyone! I come back after a looong time with two projects for Memories Trend DT. March was really a month that had it all. Music concerts, lots of responsibilities for me and the family and... a really bad influenza which kept me at home for several days unable to do some serious work. But enough with these!

What do you think of my layout? I used an old photo of me playing the piano and the beautiful collection Honey Chai Paper Pack by Kaisercraft. It was included in my dt kit.

With his month's kit I also created a mini-mini album with a 12x12 inch-paper using a tutorial that I have found on youtube.

How to make a one sheet mini pocket book

For the cover of my mini album I fussy-cut some flowers from one of the paper pack's papers and I used a phrase from the sticker sheet that comes with the pack.

Bloom where you are planted-Memories Trend DT

Hello everyone! I hope February will be a happy and lovely month for all of us! Today I'm sharing with you a layout I created for Memories Trend design team. I worked with some yummy products that came in my kit!

I used a My Mind's Eye kraft patterned paper which I distressed using a white dabber and a Crafters Workshop dotted stencil.
I am so excited with the thinlits dies of Sizzix that Memories Trend sent me. They are gears with hearts in them. I loved them! I have used them to make two "flowers", I also used some of them to embellish one corner of my paper and finally I used the little hearts that were left to make a banner under the photo.

Nothing very complicate but I'm quite happy with what came out.
I also did some fussy-cutting for the quote and the flowers on the right corner of the photo.

CC November 15th Sketch challenge

Serenity at the waterfalls of Edessa

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a new layout with you. I was very inspired by the CSI challenge this week and the Sketchabilities sketch and I wanted to create a new layout with a photo of mine. It was taken during me and my husband's honeymoon when we had a trip at Macedonia (Greece). The waterfalls of Edessa was one of the places we visited.

I used my favorite Webster's pages papers (Western Romance collection), felt flowers that I made, lots of die-cuts for the leaves, the tag (journalling spot behind the photo) and the frames, gesso, Distress and Prima inks for the distressing, pearls, ribbon.

I used the CSI colour combo, flowers-ribbon (at the bow down the flower cluster)-paint (distress inks) (for the Evidence) and a tag behind the photo as a journaling spot (for the Testimony).

I also followed the Sketchabilities #125 sketch

OUAS October Challenge

Hello bloggers! Today I'm going to share with you a layout I created for OUAS October challenge which is about the women/girls in our lives. Although it's very difficult for me to do some serious scrapbooking the last month (I have a broken leg...) Nadia's sketch is amazing and I couldn't resist.

So here is a layout with one photo my first daughter which I had to scrap (love the way she looks here).

The photo is very poor as today the sky is totally cloudy and the natural light was terrible.

I used My Mind's eye paper from a kit I have bought quite some time ago from Lena. It's the Follow your Heart collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting (something that you know I love), Tattered Angels masks, gesso, die-cuts (I used Memory box dies), paper doilies and pearls.

Crafty Steals Challenge!

CC LOVE Challenge

Here is my layout for the challenge:

I love this photo of my little darling... I used Prima "Fairy Rhymes" papers, the frame is made with a Tattered Angels stencil and Vintage Photo distress ink. I also used some stamps, die-cuts and flowers and a chipboard key from Sfragidomania.

With this layout I also take part to the SIG challenge which asks from us to use stencils and inks.

Supreme Scrap Tournament 2014-1st challenge

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a new double layout I created for the 1st challenge of the Supreme Scrap Tournament. So I used three photos of the little chapel not far from my home in the centre of Athens as we were challeged to use photos of favourite places as far as 1000 steps from our home. I used masks and gesso for my background and Webster's Pages papers that I love. My journaling (which should be at least 50 words) reads: " The little chapel of St. Andrew, so close to our home, is our little heaven on earth. All the love that our holy fathers and our friends share with us is unique... This is the main reason that we have chosen to live in the centre of Athens away from nature... So many memories we have here..."

Here you can see some photos that I love since they picture our church all snowed (something tht we don't see very often in Greece).

Funny faces!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing fine! Today I'm sharing with you my layout for the Memories Trend challenge (which asks for a mixed media L.O. in autumn colours) and the Frosted Designs (for the challenge "Creativity with texture").

I used stencils and stamps in this L.O. as well as gesso and acrylic paints, inks and the Basic Grey "Curio" collection. I also added some flowers and die-cuts. The journaling is written on a hidden tag behind the photo. My photo is taken back to 2001 during me and my husband's honeymoon trip at the beautiful forests of our picturesque Macedonia. We visited Sithonia (Chalkidiki) and Kastoria and we also had some stops at the wonderful waterfalls of Edessa and at Prespes.
